Our comprehensively equipped shop can repair or modify most manual gearboxes & diffs. Experiences with Toyotas from the 1980’s to current gives us considerable expertise in most of their 2 and 4 wheel drive transmissions. Common parts are supplied for rear-drive W50, W55, W57, W58, T50, R160 , plus Transaxle E142 Close ratio gears can be fitted to selected units. Double syncro boxes can be fitted to many MR2, Celica and GT4 models. Exchange units are available for some Toyotas. |

LSD’s can be fitted & ratios changed in many diffs, with a choice of off-the-shelf units from suppliers around the world, or custom made for race use. Transmission modifications and swaps are undertaken for race use
For some gearbox conversions, or race car use, we offer custom made concentric clutch release bearings. This avoids complex or unusual clutch levers. etc.Our specially made Triumph gearboxes have been successfully used on the most powerful Triumphs ever built for classic racing & rallying. We are one of a few Australian shops to have all the required tools and test benches for repairing & testing Laycock and Gear Vendors overdrives as fitted to a wide range of British and European cars from the 1950’s to late 1980’s. MGB, Triumph TR, Jaguar , Volvo etc . Special modifications can be made for historic racing use. Overdrive & gear ratios can be changed on some models, to produce true 6 speed transmissions, eg Triumph TR4-6. |

Dyno Tuning and Engine management |

Our engineers and mechanics routinely use a Dyno Dynamics 2WD Dyno for tuning high performance modern cars. Most modern cars have electronic injection and ignition systems which cannot be modified, so any serious engine modifications require a complete change to computer (ECU) controlling these systems. We are familiar with fitment and tuning of Motec, Haltec, Wolf & Autronic programmable ECU's. Injector upgrades, custom injector rails, turbo upgrades, custom manifolds etc., can all be professionally undertaken. Lucas PI systems can be overhauled and modified for road or race use. We stock up-rated seals for unleaded fuel use. Troublesome Lucas electric powered gear pumps can be replaced with modern roller-cell pumps provided other changes are made at the same time, eg relief valve, inlet surge tank. New injector lines can be made in any length. Our own Lucas injected Triumph TR5 has covered over 200,000 miles with only 1 major overhaul to its Lucas system.It starts first ime-every time. So much for their un-reliability! |
