TOM's TOYOTA AE82 FX-GT Race Car
PDF

This Toyota AE82-FX-GT was built by TOM's Japan in 1987 and went on to class wins in the British Touring Car Championship in 1988 & 89, in the hands of Phil Dowsett. Phil only just missed the outright championship by a few points in 1988, against Frank Sytners BMW M3.

The car came to Bob Holden in Australia for the 1990 Australian championship, but unfortunately never achieved the same level of success as it did in the UK or Europe. The car lay virtually unused from 1995 to 2006, when rebuild work was commenced by Road & Track.

Terry from Road & Track won the inaugural Lloyd Bax trophy race for Historic Touring Cars at Historic Warwick, 2008. The car now has a full CAMS COD & historic log book, befitting its illustrious race hsitory.
